Additional Information
As one would expect with Italy, the culture in both these regions is rich and vibrant, very much like the food and landscape. Lush, green trees, wild flowers and lemon trees decorate the hills and mountains, whilst inland oranges and olive groves and colourful vineyards and plentiful, contributing hugely to the local and national agricultural economy. Coastlines are mostly picturesque, clean sandy beaches and calm, clear sea.
Weather in both regions is temperate all year round, although tourism is reserved primarily for the summer months, when temperatures can reach as high as. Both destinations have International airports with various airlines (some budget) flying direct from London on a regular basis. It is only a matter of time before more flights are scheduled from further UK airports and the lack of accessibility is what makes Southern Italy so unspoilt and such a ‘hot spot’ at the moment with regards to investingand for holidaymakers wanting something a little more traditional and relaxed from their holiday.
Despite Southern Italys many cultural influences, it remains a predominantly catholic country, and down south in particular, the religion is still very much practiced. There are many religious holidays and festivals that may overlap your stay there and these can be extremely good fun, often consisting of streets laden with wine and traditional food. It is also worth noting that during these times (and there are many Italian ‘holidays’), all shops will probably be shut except perhaps in some of the slightly more tourist dominated areas
